Frequently asked questions
Does KitchenIQ cost anything? No, all features are currently free.
How is the menu prepared? A weekly menu is prepared based on the items in your pantry, their expiry dates, your diet, your allergies and your cooking habits. You can change meals one by one and regenerate any day you don't like.
I don't use the app every day. Can I get a menu for just some days? Yes. Choose "Day by day" during setup or in Profile › Cooking Habits. You pick a menu for the day you want and get the shopping list for that day only.
How is the shopping list created? Ingredients you already have at home are taken off the ingredients of the dishes on your menu, and the missing ones are listed. After shopping, you can move what you bought into your pantry with one tap using "Add to pantry".
How does receipt scanning work? When you take a photo of your grocery receipt, the items are read and shown to you before they are added to your pantry. You can edit and confirm them. The photo is deleted when the scan is finished.
Can I rely on the allergen filter? The allergen filter relies on recipe and ingredient data and is not error-free. Please always check the labels of the products you use yourself. For details, see the Terms of Use.
How do I turn off notifications? In Profile › Notifications & Settings, or in your phone's settings.
Where is my data stored? Our servers are in Germany (EU). For details, see the Privacy Policy.
Deleting your account
- Open the Profile tab in the app.
- Tap Delete Account at the bottom and confirm with your password.
Your account and data are deleted immediately and permanently. If you can't get into the app, write "delete my account" to kvkk@zss.ai from the email address registered to your account. We will delete it within 30 days at the latest.
